VaultX Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 23, 2026

1. Introduction

1.1 “VaultX” (hereinafter referred to as “this App”) is a local text encryption and privacy tool designed to help users encrypt, decrypt, organize, and manage private or sensitive text on their devices. We are committed to protecting user privacy and minimizing the collection and processing of personal information.

1.2 This Privacy Policy explains how this App handles information, how data is stored and protected, and what choices and rights are available to you when using this App.

1.3 By using this App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the App.

1.4 If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you may contact us at: kai.q.apps@gmail.com

2. Information and Data We Process

2.1 VaultX is designed according to the principles of local-first storage and data minimization. Text that you enter into the App for encryption, decryption, or storage is processed locally on your device. VaultX does not operate a remote server for storing your vault contents and does not upload your plaintext vault content to our servers.

The following types of information or data may be processed when you use the App:

(i) Vault and Text Data: Text that you choose to encrypt, decrypt, or store in VaultX is processed locally on your device. This may include private notes, passwords, account information, memos, or any other text you choose to enter.

(ii) Master Password and Security Information: Your Master Password and related security information are handled locally on your device. VaultX uses device and operating-system security mechanisms to help protect locally stored information.

(iii) App and Device Information: Basic technical information necessary for the App to operate correctly, such as the operating system environment and App version, may be processed locally for compatibility and functionality.

(iv) In-App Purchase Information: If you purchase the VaultX PRO upgrade, the payment transaction is processed by the applicable app store, such as Google Play or Apple App Store. VaultX may receive information necessary to determine whether the PRO entitlement is active or has been purchased. We do not directly collect or store your payment card number, banking credentials, or other sensitive payment information.

2.2 VaultX may use device capabilities when necessary for specific features:

(i) Device Authentication: Certain security-related functions may use the authentication mechanisms provided by your device, such as the device screen lock or other system authentication methods.

(ii) File Access: File access may be used when you choose to export an encrypted backup file or import a previously created encrypted backup file. VaultX does not use this capability to upload your vault contents to our servers.

2.3 Because VaultX is designed primarily for local processing, clearing the App’s local storage or uninstalling the App may permanently remove locally stored data unless you have separately created and retained an encrypted backup.

3. How Information Is Used

3.1 Information and data processed by VaultX are used only as necessary to provide the App’s functions, including:

(i) Encrypting and decrypting text locally on your device;

(ii) Creating, organizing, viewing, editing, and deleting your locally stored vault content;

(iii) Protecting access to security-sensitive functions through the Master Password and supported device authentication mechanisms;

(iv) Creating encrypted backup files and restoring data from encrypted backup files;

(v) Verifying and restoring your VaultX PRO purchase status through the applicable app store;

(vi) Maintaining compatibility, security, and proper operation of the App.

3.2 We do not sell, rent, or trade your vault contents or personal information to third parties.

3.3 VaultX does not use the contents of your encrypted text for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

4. Local Storage and Security

4.1 VaultX is designed so that your vault contents and encryption operations remain on your device. The App uses encryption and operating-system security mechanisms to help protect locally stored data against unauthorized access.

4.2 Your plaintext vault contents are not stored on servers operated by us. Encryption and decryption of your text are performed locally on your device.

4.3 VaultX provides encrypted backup and restore functionality. If you choose to export a backup, you are responsible for keeping the exported backup file secure.

4.4 You may delete locally stored content through the App or remove the App’s local data through your device settings. Uninstalling the App may also remove locally stored VaultX data.

4.5 Because VaultX does not maintain a remote copy of your vault contents, we generally cannot recover locally deleted vault data or a lost encrypted backup file.

5. Master Password and Account Recovery

5.1 The Master Password is used to protect access to security-sensitive functions within VaultX. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate control over access to your device and your Master Password.

5.2 If you forget your Master Password, VaultX may allow you to reset it after successful verification through the device’s supported screen-lock authentication mechanism.

5.3 If the required device authentication mechanism is unavailable or has not been configured, resetting the Master Password may require clearing locally stored VaultX data.

5.4 Because VaultX is designed without remote storage of your vault contents or Master Password, we cannot remotely retrieve your Master Password or bypass the security mechanisms of your device.

6. Backup and Restore

6.1 VaultX allows you to export an encrypted backup file containing supported VaultX data and later import that file to restore your data.

6.2 Exported backup files are under your control. VaultX does not automatically upload exported backup files to our servers.

6.3 You are responsible for securely storing your backup files and ensuring that they remain accessible when needed.

6.4 If a backup file is lost, deleted, damaged, or otherwise unavailable, we may be unable to recover the data contained in that backup.

7. Information Sharing and Disclosure

7.1 VaultX does not share your vault contents, encrypted text, Master Password, or other locally stored vault data with third parties.

7.2 Limited information may be transmitted to or processed by third-party service providers only when necessary to provide specific functions or when you actively choose to use those services:

(i) Formspree: When you actively use the feedback function within VaultX and submit a message, the content you enter in the feedback form is transmitted through Formspree for the purpose of receiving and responding to your feedback or support request. This transmission occurs only when you choose to submit the form. Your vault contents, encrypted text, Master Password, and other locally stored VaultX data are not sent to Formspree as part of this feedback process.

(ii) App Store and Payment Services: Google Play, Apple App Store, or other authorized app distribution platforms may process purchases, refunds, purchase restoration, and related transaction information according to their own privacy policies. VaultX may receive information necessary to determine whether your PRO entitlement is active or has been purchased. We do not directly collect or store your payment card number, banking credentials, or app store account password.

(iii) External Services and Links: If you choose to open an external link provided within VaultX, such as the KAI_Q Studio Telegram channel, privacy policy page, app store page, website, or other external service, your device may open the relevant third-party application or web browser. Your interaction with that external service is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the applicable third party.

7.3 We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a valid request from a competent governmental authority. However, because VaultX is designed to store vault contents locally rather than on our servers, we generally do not possess copies of your locally stored vault contents.

7.4 We do not sell, rent, or trade your vault contents or personal information to third parties.

8.1 VaultX uses or provides access to certain third-party services and external platforms for specific functions. These may include:

Formspree: Used to transmit feedback or support messages that you actively choose to submit through the feedback function within VaultX. Formspree may process the submitted information according to its own privacy policy. VaultX does not use Formspree to transmit your vault contents, encrypted text, Master Password, or other locally stored vault data.

Google Play: On Android, Google Play may be used for App distribution, updates, and processing the optional one-time VaultX PRO purchase. Payment and transaction processing are handled by Google Play. VaultX does not directly collect or store your payment card number, banking credentials, or Google account password.

Telegram: VaultX provides an external link to the official KAI_Q Studio Telegram channel. Accessing or joining the Telegram channel is entirely optional and is not required to use VaultX.

8.2 When you choose to open the KAI_Q Studio Telegram channel, the link is handled by your device through the Telegram application or an external web browser, depending on your device configuration. Telegram is not embedded within VaultX.

8.3 VaultX does not send your vault contents, encrypted text, Master Password, backup data, or other locally stored VaultX data to Telegram.

8.4 If you choose to access or interact with Telegram, any information processed through Telegram is governed by Telegram’s own terms, privacy policy, and data practices.

8.5 VaultX may also provide links to other external services, websites, legal documents, app store pages, or communication channels. When you choose to access an external service, your interaction with that service is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the applicable third-party provider.

8.6 VaultX is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, availability, or operation of third-party services.

9. In-App Purchases

9.1 VaultX offers an optional one-time purchase to unlock PRO features. This is not a recurring subscription unless otherwise clearly stated by the applicable app store at the time of purchase.

9.2 Purchases are processed through the authorized payment system of the applicable app store. We do not directly process or store your payment card details, banking credentials, or app store account password.

9.3 Purchase restoration, refunds, and transaction management are subject to the policies and technical capabilities of the applicable app store.

9.4 When supported, VaultX may verify or restore your PRO entitlement through the applicable app store.

10. User Choices and Rights

10.1 Because VaultX primarily stores and processes vault data locally, you maintain direct control over that data through the App and your device.

Depending on the available functions, you may:

(i) View, edit, encrypt, decrypt, or delete locally stored text;

(ii) Create or remove vault categories;

(iii) Export an encrypted backup;

(iv) Import an encrypted backup;

(v) Delete locally stored VaultX data through the App or your device settings;

(vi) Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data, subject to your device and operating system behavior.

10.2 If you have questions regarding privacy or the handling of information associated with VaultX, you may contact us at kai.q.apps@gmail.com.

11. Children’s Privacy

11.1 VaultX is a general-purpose text encryption utility and is not specifically directed at children.

11.2 We do not knowingly operate a service intended to collect personal information from children through VaultX.

11.3 Parents or legal guardians should supervise a minor’s use of security and privacy tools where appropriate under applicable law.

12. Data Loss and Security Responsibilities

12.1 You are responsible for maintaining appropriate control over your device, Master Password, device authentication methods, and exported backup files.

12.2 VaultX is designed to protect locally stored information through encryption and device security mechanisms, but no software or security system can guarantee absolute security.

12.3 Because VaultX does not maintain a remote copy of your vault contents, data that is permanently deleted from your device or lost without an available backup may not be recoverable.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

13.1 We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to VaultX, legal requirements, security practices, or third-party services.

13.2 When this Privacy Policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will be revised.

13.3 We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of VaultX after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
